Wenzel F. will be doing the Mozart Concerto with Berlin. The concert streams at 2:00 pm EDT this Friday. It will be interesting to see if there are any mysterious dots on his instrument!

Do you know where it's being streamed by any chance?

You can subscribe below to see the streaming concert through the Berlin Philharmonic Digital Concert Hall. I think it is 10 Euros for a week's access, the lowest subscription rate. You can't just buy one single concert stream that I am aware of.

That's it. They sometimes also stream to movie theaters, but not this time.

If I remember, there is a 7-day free trial...

Edit: Just tried creating an account with another email, and it seems like the free trial is gone. They will only allow you to watch a free test-concert. I swear it used to be there...I listened to as much music I could during the free trial, and was so disappointed when it ended. It makes sense, since theoretically, a person could keep creating new accounts with different email addresses and use the Digital Concert Hall for free. Thankfully, I persuaded my parents to get buy me a 12 month ticket :)

Off-topic question for rtaylor:
Rob, have you tried the latest Wurlitzer RB?

Sigh. Always Mozart. Seems like at least 90% of the time there's a clarinet concerto.

Hi kenb,

No I haven't tried the new Wurlitzer RB. The photos on their website show some interesting changes to the key work.

I'm going to Belgium for the Clarinet Congress and I have an inquiry into Bernd asking if they are coming and what they are bringing.

Hopefully I will get a crack at trying it out.

Cheers,
Robert

A bit disappointing Fuchs will use a standard A clarinet for this piece.

Absolutely fantastic. Seemed to be having a great time, character and feeling in every note, and pretty hard to imagine anyone being bored at yet another Mozart performance, because it was unique. Silverstein ligature, and a different barrel than he usually uses, that might not be wood. No white circle. Audience loved it.

I agree, I enjoyed the performance. Felt fresh and new even though the Mozart is perhaps the most played concerto for clarinet. Too bad it was at 11 am for me, and I had to listen to it in my economics class on low volume. We are allowed to use phones but the teacher didn't say if earbuds were ok, so I sat in the back and listened through one ear. I didn't want to seem disrespectful by not listening to his lecture at all :)

Ray! Only true artists do things like that. Having heard a lot, what I really like about performances these days is when they do things I'd never have thought of, and of course, when they work.
