Looks like a nice mouthpiece cap. Better than the clunky large plastic one that comes with the Rover. Thoughts?

They work well. Benefits are their compact size, ability to use with different mouthpieces and ligatures, silence when dropped during quiet passages, modest cost and ability to preserve reed humidity between playing sessions. Downside is that they are small and bouncy, so can be easily lost - especially the black ones. I’ll

I love it with the only caveat being the ease of them bouncing out of sight when dropped. That's why I have several including the ugly white one I use on gigs. (The black one looks much nicer.) They do a great job of protecting everything and keeping the reed moist for 10 minutes or more if needed.

Been using it for almost a year. Works great. Keeps the reed at least as moist as a regular cap, fits better in the case, and you won't split any reeds or notch the mouthpiece with it. As others have noted, it can go walkabout.

Would highly recommend with mouthpieces that aren't thicker than average.

I wonder what you mean by that. The 'medium' cap is for use with Eb clarinet, Bb clarinet, alto sax, and tenor sax so it's hard to imagine a clarinet mouthpiece it wouldn't fit well. Maybe you have the 'small' which is intended only for soprano sax?

It can spread wide going to the tails of the mouthpiece, but if the beak is shallow, it will slide up. Does that make sense? On HR sax mpcs, this isn't a problem as they generally start with a very steep beak. It fits great on my Bb and Eb mpc, but slowly works its way up on my HS* and CL5.

I love 'em. I bought about 8 and have one per instrument plus some spares. They're awesome for a multi-instrument gig cause of them being universal you just shift it to the horn you're switching from/to. And they work with any ligature.
