I just noticed this Santy Runyon SR Special #5 on that auction site. What stuck me as unusual was its tenon...there was no cork! Instead, it looks like a piece of plastic with 3 outer rings slightly protruding out around the tenon section.
Has anyone seen anything like this before?
Any info would be much appreciated.
Edit: The picture didn't post. I'll try again.

2nd try...
Well, for some unknown reason, the picture won't post.
Oh well...hopefully my description on the O.P. will suffice.
(Again, no cork, just a piece of what appears to be hard plastic with 3 circular protruding rings around the tenon section.)

Appears to be a rubber gasket as described by the seller...

No, it looks like a solid piece of hard plastic with 3 circular protruding rings.
I'll try again. Perhaps my long descriptive name threw things off.
OK, the picture works. Perhaps the # should have been left off.

Caihlen, my apology. I was so taken aback by the picture of the tenon that I failed to read the seller's comments.
Yes, it's rubber. Now...I'm wondering...who thought of this idea first?

No worries. Quite interesting though I must say. I always thought the o-ring idea was brilliant...
