The predecessor to the E13 was the Buffet Evette Schaeffer clarinet. During the '50's and '60's, and maybe later, Buffet outsourced production of some Evette Schaeffers, as well as some of the Evette, another student model. Evette Schaeffers which were produced by Buffet in France had serial numbers which began with a "K". Evette Schaeffers produced by Malerne (another French manufacturer) had serial numbers beginning with a "B". The Buffet produced horns had a lot of similarities to what is now the Buffet R13, including the R13 bore, and in general were very good intermediate level horns. The ones produced by Malerne were decent student horns, but not the same. Around 1980 Buffet changed the name of the Evette Schaeffer to the Buffet E13. They just continued the serial number convention. I've played an E13 that was made in 1981-2 that had a serial number in the 50,000's. I don't know of any serial number lists after that. Maybe others have information about later numbers. A wild guess might suggest somewhere in the 90's??
