I have a clarinet that I have not used for a LONG LONG time and am probably looking to sell/give away but before I do that I am interested to find out some history/how old it is.
It has 'Lafleur', 'Made in Czechoslovakia' and 'Imported by Boosey and Hawkes' etched on the bell.
Is there a website or something that I can access to find out some information or does anyone on here have any ideas on how old it might be?

It's made by Amati and since it says Czechoslovakia (and not Czech Republic) it's before 1993. Probably a student clarinet but I'm not sure if Amati made several different models back then. Someone might know when Amati started making instruments under the Lafleur name so that can narrow it more.

They were made by Amati (also sold in the UK under the name Corton and B&H 400 among several others), so maybe Amati hold records of their serial numbers or may have an idea, but do bear in mind a lot has changed since your clarinet was made.

At a guess it was made sometime between the late '60s to the late '70s.

Thank you, I believe it is 1980s or maybe late 1970s - I bought it second hand from a friend but I don't recall whether they had it from new or if it was already pre-owned. I think I probably bought it in about 1981-2 . . . . I will see if I can do some further research. Thank you for your reply.
