This is the way symphony management come back with a reduced orchestra size, cutting the season and lowering the salary.

I read somewhere that the SA Symphony has an operating budget of around $7.5M. That's not a lot for a major city's orchestra - it leads me to believe that the structure of the symphony as an entity is deeply flawed.

It's crazy what's happening - with the board resignations and these big decisions happening daily. I read this morning (Europe time) that the new head of the board rescinded the cancellation of the season.

Yeah. You can pay the musicians, or you can pay all the folks who bought tickets. Or, you can declare BK, and a federal judge can conduct the rest of the season.
