 Oiling the Yamaha’s

I successfully oiled my daughters 450 and my 650 soprano clarinets plus my Low C 622II bass. I used music nomad oil. My daughters clarinet was serviced at the local repair guy. He must keep his house hot and dry. The ring came off of her bell. One day of a dampit in her case tightened it. So o decided to oil. The 450 and 650 date back to 2007 and both were oiled once in the past. I used a Yamaha swab that was made damp with oil. Swabbing made the clarinets look wet inside. No dripping or running or wet pads. The 450 which gets used very hard by my daughter absorbed a lot in top joint. Swabbed once a hour 3 times on 450. Even wiped the bell and barrel down with oil. My 650 took a little oil and the 622 bass took hardly any oil. The 622 was made in 2010 and purchased summer of 2016. Even in 11 degree weather house humidity is 32% cause we keep heat low at 64 at nite. 67 in day. The music nomad oil is low viscous oil with no petroleum products. All natural oil. Anyway I was never a big on oiling cause our house doesn’t drop below 30% humidity but did it when that top bell ring came off.

It's kind of normal for the rings to come off. Do you know how to put them back on with a tight fit? If not email me and I can guide you.

It pretty much happens to all wooden horns with metal rings. Not just Yamaha's.

I sent you a link on how to fix this.
