Indeed: I did once ask Peter Eaton if the International was his remake of the 926, in the same way that the Elite is an improved 1010 - I got a rather frosty answer. My clear impression is that he started from the Elite and tried to find a way to get the same tone quality from a narrower bore, rather than taking design hints from any other instrument.
