Does anyone know where I can purchase tan gel gummy pads usually used on an oboe. I want to try them on a clarinet. Thanks in advance for your help.

I've been repairing oboes for many years and haven't heard of them. The word "gummy" doesn't inspire confidence.

S&S by default uses something they call "silicone resonance pads," which, when they described them to me, sounded like they might have something like a gel layer. Don't know if that's what you mean, but . . . http://www.resonanzoptimierung.de/ResoProdukte/ProdukteQRP.html.

I once fixed a Bettoney plateau clarinet that had silicone pads installed. I liked that they were waterproof, but they needed a special (green?) adhesive hold them in place.

The only silicone pad on the market I know of are these:

Haven't tried them yet but they look promising. They even have cork on the back so you can use any glue.

What oboes usually use gel gummy pads?

Chris.
