Muncy Winds sells tuning rings (or spacers) that fit both barrel joints (top and bottom) ... the top tuning rings also fit the center joint of the clarinet. Adds stability and repeat-ability to how much you have to pull ...
How much you may need to pull depends on your reed, voicing/embouchure, instrument, barrel length and internal taper, temperature and how the ensemble tunes.
So, you might have to pull from zero (or needing a shorter barrel) to maybe as much as 3 mm or more (needing a longer barrel) ...
One ensemble I play in, has a bunch of tired old men like me ... the pitch center is about 438 (!!)
You just gotta check it out ... too many variables to guess ...
