There is very little air flow in wind instruments. Flute and Tuba probably have the most - oboe the least. The air is used to set up vibrations. That being said, my understanding is that a smoother bore is preferable to a rough one.

Interesting note - A rougher bore can decrease resistance to airflow. Think of the dimpled surface on a golf ball.
