Does anyone know a really good harness for a Buffet Low C Bass Clarinet that would work well with standing up?
I Have looked at one by SaxLab and was also wondering if their were any thoughts about that one also.

The earspasm strap has its good points, but there is no mention of the problem of maintaining an effective playing position for a bass clarinet.
None of the photos show a bass clarinet being played. With a strap the instrument (a low Eb in my case) rests against my leg when in equilibrium and restricts certain fingering movements. The videos of Eric Dolphy show him holding it away from his body with his right thumb. I'm no Eric Dolphy, but I've tried that method and it doesn't seem likely that I'll learn to play freely that way.
This topic has been discussed in this forum - some cited authorities even say you should have both peg and strap. I had decided that I should fashion a prop attaching to the peg socket, resting against my right thigh. Haven't gone through with that, but recently I played a set with a jazz group, and I felt very uncool being the only horn sitting in a chair! Now I'll go back to work on that prop ...

I tried a bunch.
I don't like the type that is on Lowenstern's website (and any that work the same) because they give a bit of a wedgie and uncomfortable if your shirt is not inside your pants (which mine never is). Might not be an issue for you.
I have the "belly stick" From Steve Fox. I think he custom made the first one for me. I stopped using it because it wasn't comfortable for me but worth trying.
I haven't really tried the Saxholder yet (only for a couple of minutes), but one bass clarinetist told me it's the best thing in the world, another didn't like it at all.
By Saxlab do you mean Jazzlab? That's the Saxholder.
From many other harnesses, I like the regular one from Neotech.
So you pretty much have to try and see what you like. Going by any recommendation is a gamble, that's hyw I tried a BG and the "suspenders" type, both I didn't like.

I made a prop across to my right thigh, as proposed in my post above. It doesn't work, because the player must still push the clarinet out against the pull of the strap. I think it's essential that it hang in equilibrium - maybe there can be a minimal piece designed only to protect the low E and Eb pads from interference.
