I'm not positive I want to major in music so im keeping my options open, but i would like to attend a college or university who has a good music school and plenty of other options. Any suggestions???? Also, has anyone had any experience with double majoring in music and another subject nonrelated??? If so, could you share your thoughts? How hard was it?

Music education is a double in and of itself. You are double majoring in music and education. It is difficult, but fun. Besides, if you want to do it, then you will do it. There is not one person in my university that does not enjoy what they are doing. I am currently out of college(summer break), and cannot seem to get away from music! I love it!
As for music schools, Juilliard, Eastman, Indiana University of Bloomington, Michigan State University, and University of Michigan at Ann Arbor all have very good music programs. I don't know the teachers since I go to a smaller university. Some of the other people on this BB could give you some other direction.
If you have the desire, motivation, and you enjoy what you do, then you will be able to do double major.

Its funny because you never realize how good some of the programs are until you see them first hand.. A lot of universities have good programs, some underrated, some overratted, but all together, you have plenty of options. Especially, if you are not sure what you want to major in, go to a big university with a strong program.. Just about every state has atleast one!
