I have been asked to play a klezmer piece at a Jewish funeral. I will probably have to play the piece at the burial (possibly outside?) and probably with no accompaniment. Obviously I need to find a piece which would be appropriate and effective under these circumstances. Any ideas, sheet music or youtube links, would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Hi,
I've used a piece called "Kroilid" a Karaite piece from the collection of "The Music of Veretski Pass" Transcribed, edited and arranged by Cookie Segelstein. There is another piece in the book called Papir is Dokh Vays. Both pieces a solemn and not showy.
There is a recording available of this group called "The Music of Veretski Pass".
Hope this helps.
....Mike
