My symphony wind quintet released a CD recently which was supposed to have some tracks put on mp3 with Dave Blumberg, but they apparently haven't gotten the material to him. I'll call them to find out what the holdup is. The CD has Hindemith, Ewazen, Reicha, and Pawelek quintets on it.

The advice I offer to others on this board is much better than my clarinet playing, and, as Groucho Marx would probably observe, "Giv'n that, perhaps I should turn my clarinet collection into a lamp factory." Anyhow, your suggestion sounds like a winner. What an instructional resource, a sound file of etudes or various playing techniques would be, for all of us to click onto. The old saying, "A picture is worth a thousand words" may be appropriate.

It would be; however, we must be careful of true copyright infringement. Recording pieces composed or arranged before 1923 is great; after that time it requires permission from the copyright holder.

How about the Rose Etudes? (this has been discussed on Klarinet before) mw

There is a recording by Kazuo Fujii. If you're interested I can get you his email address and perhaps he can tell you how to obtain his recording. My son's going to be visiting him (or already has) while he's in Japan - perhaps he could take them back if they're available.
