Hello everyone.
Any suggestions for my hot shot senior student who has been invited to perform a solo with the string orchestra? No winds in the orchestra, but that's another aggravating story for another time. He's a fine player and I'd like to suggest a few pieces to the orchestra director. Finzi Bagatelle's come to mind, but I'm sure there are other options out there.

Tartini-Jacob (B&H) is a nice musical piece. Not a virtuoso show piece though so depends what talents your student wants to project.

Gwyneth Walker has a nice piece for clarinet and strings. String parts are not too difficult.
Don't remember the title but I'm sure you can find it on her web site.
