The CG seems the closest to what I currently play (an ORT+, which I like a lot). But that’s a good reminder I should try both. Just from the specs, it looks like the CG and CG+ are derived from the Wizard mouthpieces. I liked the “close” version of the Wizard in theory, but had the consistency issue. I only could try one “open” Wizard and couldn’t get that comfortable with it (even trying out a range of reed strengths), but was never sure if it was a bad instance or just too open for my preferences. The fact that one of the three I got was literally unplayable sort of weakened my confidence in the small sample size. It’s good to hear you found the Backun-branded ones more consistent.
