Hello All,
Does anyone have a good reed pairing for a bass clarinet selmer C* mouthpiece?

I use a rico grand concert select 3 on a Fobes 10k RR facing (similar tip opening to C*).

I use Vandoren Blue Box 3s on mine with my Selmer, which should be fairly similar in strength to the Grand Concert Selects toolaholic mentioned.
When I was in High School I had a tendency to want to use a harder reed than I should have for the mouthpiece I was using on bass at the time, a Vandoren B44, and I believe that was making me work harder than I should have, just something to consider that you might be doing.

I had my C* refaced by Dave McClune so the tip opening is ~1.90 (I think C* is ~1.8 standard). I like Vandoren Blue Box 2.5 as well as D'Addario Reserve 2.5 and Steuer 2.5 to 3.0. You just have to find what works for you.

There is no one type reed for all players on any mouthpiece. Try a box of each until you find what you like.
