Does anyone know which company makes the thinnest mouthpiece patch?
My student doesn't want a thick one. The thinner the better.

You might find some useful info on material for making your own thin patches from this archived thread on SOTW:

There are 0.35mm patches sold under the Vandoren name. I bought mine at Amazon.

Normally the clear plastic are the thinnest ... you don't get quite the grip as the rubber ones, but the plastic ones last longer ...
You know, you can perform some interesting experiments using different thickness (and multi-layers) of MP patches ... seems to really make a difference in feel and blowing resistance ... really amazing how much change there can be ...

The Charles Bay thin clear patches are .33 mm. I always found them to work really well. They stay put on the mouthpiece are are really wear well. I don't think put a hole in one of those.

You can always use insulating tape.

Since switching to double lip embouchure, my preferred mouthpiece patch thickness is zero.

The Vandoren transparent ones are 0.35mm thick. (The black ones are much thicker, 0.8mm.)

I'll echo Ed's mention of the clear Charles Bay patches. Thinnest and most durable I've ever tried.

The BG thin clear patches are good.
Buy the large ones and cut them in half and get twice the value.
