 Clarinet Music of Robert Delanoff
Author: seabreeze

Clarinet music by this still active composer deserves more attention from players looking for something modern but accessible. Delanoff was a professional clarinetist in orchestras in Munich, Germany and has written in many genres for many different instrumental combinations.

Hungarian clarinetist Zoltan Kovacs performs Delanoff's "Die Zeit Vergeht" for clarinet and piano here: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Delanoff+Die+Zeit+Vergeht+clarinet+and+piano.

Kovacs does the Delanoff solo clarinet work "Koloratur Des Kolibri" here:

Tamas Puskas is the clarinetist in Delanoff's "Nocturne for Clarinet, Cello, and Piano." https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Robert+Delanoff+nocturne+for+clarinet+and+cello+and+piano.

Puskas again in Delanoff's "Trio for Clarinet, Cello, and Piano."

Wow you sent me down a rabbit hole there seabreeze. So good!

I particularly enjoyed the "Koloratur des Kolibri" and the Nocturne.

Brilliant share, thank you.

Hi,
Are you aware where to find the sheet music for this?
Specifically his trio for Clarinet Cello and Piano.
Would love to perform it.
Thanks!

I found the composer’s website, http://www.delanoff.de/

If you’re a non-German speaker follow the link Musik in Notenverlagen then it advises that apart from some published material everything can be obtained by emailing the composer, the email address is under Kontakt. A pdf of the trio can be obtained from David Gortner but there is a new printed edition available from the composer.

I haven’t followed this up yet but certainly will as this music is well worth playing.

John

Thanks to Seabreeze for alerting us to another outstanding composer. So much fine music and fine clarinetists out there. The work for solo clarinet is a real gem.
