So you can even buy a clarinet made of one of the most desirable (or at least expensive materials: http://zj-music.com/bb-clarinet-huangyang-silver-plated-17-keys798cbhs-p-491.html
Huangyang, that means Boxwood. This store also offers other clarinets made of other materials, and they look quite interesting. Sadly, there isn't much to find out about them.
This store has an ebay page, though currently they don't offer so much thorugh. Personally, I've made good experiences with aliexpress, which they sell through, too, so at least buying and receiving one shouldn't be too much of a problem. Reading the comments was interesting: http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&ftab=FeedbackAsSeller&userid=simuzinuo&iid=152527650643&de=off&interval=0&searchInterval=30&items=200&keyword=152527650643&searchInterval=30
The rubber ones seem crappy, but the rest...
Some guy says it's... better than a festival? Another one says about a rosewood model: Very good. Tuning, Finish etc. Price. Yet to be blown in (translated that one for you guys). I'll say they might be worth a look. I just really like the looks of something other than grenadilla, but that souldn't be the sole reason to buy an instrument
Anyone else interested in these?
Detailed pictures of an Eb: http://www.ebay.com/itm/17-Keys-Grenadilla-Ebony-wood-wooden-Ebony-Bb-Clarinet-NEW-/282450644517?hash=item41c35ece25:g:NRcAAOSwcgNZAtMw
Doesn't look too bad.
