I have been a long term customer of that longest river company. However recently, instead of instantly ordering a book from them, I have been looking around at other websites and have sometimes got books for substantially less
I've been thinking about similar websites for CDs. Does anyone have favourite websites - in the UK - that they check out before ordering?

Sorry if my answer does not address CDs, but I wanted to let you guys know where I find my music. I have not purchased a single CD since I'm only a high school student and I don't want to burden my parents with CD money when they have graciously bought me a R13 and other equipment. Don't get me wrong, I really wish I could purchase CDs and listen to some of my favorite clarinetists play, so I'm not saying to not buy CDs. I just wanted to share with you guys some free (or somewhat cheap) sources in which I get my music.
YouTube is obvious, I don't think I need to explain that.
I've always been interested into classical music and such, but not really into these popular modern day songs, so I've never looked at Spotify. But you can find a lot of good recordings of classical music. You don't have to have Premium: just go on the Spotify online player on the computer, create an account, and browse for songs. The drawback is that sometimes I find it hard to search for.
Another is Digital Concert Hall from the Berlin Phil. You can watch a of previously recorded music on there, as well as live concerts. Some videos go back to Karajan days. All you need is an account.
Finally, I also use a site called http://classical-music-online.net/. This website is based upon the community sharing media files onto the server. However, in order to download/save the media files or to have unlimited access to listening, you would need to pay $10 in addition to creating an account. The $10 "donation" (that's what they call it) gives you unlimited access and download of music for 3 years. Pretty sweet deal in my opinion. The only reason they charge that, they claim, is to expand the storage on their servers.
These are just some stuff I wanted to share, feel free to try them out if you wish to do so!
