Hi, I am going to be doubling on the BBb Contra and a bass clarinet for a local ensemble, and does anybody know of a stand that is made for a contra?
I was also think a bari stand would work

K&M or Hercules bass clarinet/bassoon stands should work - probably best to put it in with the back of the instrument resting in the top cradle instead of face on.
If it's a Leblanc paperclip contra, then a K&M contrabassoon stand has a wide top cradle so the contra can rest in there sideways for more stability.

A K&M stand with the upper support area bent open a bit works well. You need a bench vise to do it.

If you haven't got access to a bench vice, you can use the edge of a solid wooden door to widen the cradle - place the cradle over the edge of a door and bend it both to the left and right to widen it. I did this to fit a contrabassoon edge on (by the LH thumb cluster) in my bass clarinet stand.
