On Brad Behn's Legere friendly mouthpiece...
This past school year I had a student with a cane allergy. She'd been playing on Gen I Legere with a Fobes Debut (great mouthpiece). But the combo was poor for her. After encouraging the mom to pull out her credit card, she ordered Behn's Legere-fied mouthpiece with the new Legere Euro Signature. We all talked to Brad Behn about her goals. Words can not describe how trans-formative the change was to her sound.
At HS region tryouts she wasn't the most technically proficient student, but she had 5x the sound the first ten chairs in the audition. She made the mouthpiece/reed change a week prior to the audition. I've never heard an equipment change make such a dramatic improvement.
We discussed in another thread what why certain mouthpieces are more Legere friendly than others.
Brad, as well as others, have seemed to figure out what a 2RV does by accident?
I do find one small draw-back of the Euro Signature is lack of overtones perhaps. I justify my silver Ishimori and rod rubber hourglass barrel to overcome this deficiency.
