I have a Selmer Paris Bass clarinet Model 33 to low Eb and the serial number is F0652. Can someone please tell me the year of manufacture. All of the lists I have found only go up to 1980 with the prefix B.

My Selmer bass clarinet has a serial number starting with D, and it was made in 1986, so yours must be later than that. Maybe early 90's?

Send an email to Thierry Doublon at the factory. He's super nice and can tell you not only the year, but also the month.

Slightly off topic, but a Selmer Bass clarinet to low C (from around 2000-2001 I think) was stolen in NZ a year back. The owners state the serial number was/is...
Selmer 25/II serial number: MG617
Is that a valid serial number? (I guess I'm asking, if YOU have a Selmer bass is the number similar to that). I had/have suspicions that that is NOT the serial number from the manufacturer....

They are usually a letter followed by four digits.
In the case of MG617, maybe the "G" was actually a "6"(?)

Donald,
My Model 37 is N-Series and was manufactured in December 1998. If you have an M-Series horn (I think the suggestion that the "G" is actually a "6" is likely correct - I'm unaware of any serials that include two letters - though the 25/II was for the European market; Maybe that explains it) then it was probably made in '96 or maybe '97.
