Hi guys and gals,
I am new to the clarinet board and just wanted to give my take on the 2nd gen bass clarinet by kessler. I just got mine and it is a double register low c bass clarinet. The first gen model was ok from what i heard but upon taking a $2,000 leap of faith, i can tell you guys without any uncertainty that the 2nd gen model is one of the best bass clarinets on the market today. I have played pro selmer, buffet, and yamaha horns and this instrument exceeded all expectations and plays just as good as all the other 3 pro brands. It has a pure sound with surprisingly good intonation and is incredibly well made. The one and only problem I have is the left hand (3 fingers down) c# is a little awkwardly placed but i will get used to it. This instrument can blast notes extremely loud and not sound ugly like some basses do. Please check out this instrument and if you buy it, you wont be sorry.

Thanks for sharing. I thought of buying a Kessler but went with a Yamaha 622 II instead as I have a Yamaha 221 II and am familiar with Yamaha. After all a 221 is based on the 621. Hows key strength on the Kessler? My Yamaha 622 has a tad bit of spongy feel in the low keys.
