I use these for reeds and my instrument case.
Take the brown pouch out of the clear plastic. The plastic keeps the "humidity juice" from drying out before it reaches the customer.
For reeds, I use a long Selmer-style reed case with reeds lying on glass, and put them in a Ziplock freezer bag with the Boveda pouch. Besides needing to change the freezer bag when it occasionally snags on something, this system has been working pretty well and the reeds stay very consistent.
If you leave the freezer bag open or it gets a hole in it, your brown pouch will become crunchy and need to be replaced.
