Have a Boveda 69% humidity pack, brown bag in a clear plastic overwrap. What is correct way to use it in a reed bag? Remove plastic wrap? Put it into a bag with some reeds? How many reeds suggested? Any wet sponges in bag?

The clear plastic "overwrap" is a ziplock bag, isn't it? You can just put the reeds in the bag with the humidipack. It probably doesn't matter how many reeds you put it in. Once the air in the bag and the moisture in the reeds reach a balance, the whole system will remain stable as long as you don't open the bag for very long. No wet sponges.

Actually it is a sealed plastic covering with a brown pack inside. Confusing part is that is says on the brown bag "do not cut or tear this pack open" but I think that means the brown paper bag. The website shows the plastic being removed and the paper bag placed directly where it is desired.
So I assume I would remove the clear wrap and place brown bag in case, zip-lock back or whatever. wanted to check to be sure so would not ruin my only one I got to try. I have some small round hygrometers. Now I am using pill bottles with holes in cap and wet sponges inside. But the humidity does vary from 60 to 90% depending. Thought the Boveda would be an improvement.

I use these for reeds and my instrument case.
Take the brown pouch out of the clear plastic. The plastic keeps the "humidity juice" from drying out before it reaches the customer.
For reeds, I use a long Selmer-style reed case with reeds lying on glass, and put them in a Ziplock freezer bag with the Boveda pouch. Besides needing to change the freezer bag when it occasionally snags on something, this system has been working pretty well and the reeds stay very consistent.
If you leave the freezer bag open or it gets a hole in it, your brown pouch will become crunchy and need to be replaced.
