That beats the reedless clarinet (flute) hands down.
I can understand getting "Clarinet" and "Cornet" mixed up...but that doesn't make it any less pathetic.

Duh! I've seen people confuse the various woodwinds, but man! Some people must be terminally stupid. How hard is it to find someone in a music store to tell you what instrument you have and what it might be worth?

Even I can tell that this is not a clarinet (is it?).
Has anyone emailed this person and asked what kind of reeds it *does* use?

At least the seller didn't call this cornet a "coronet" as our local paper constantly spells it in for sale ads. I always picture a marching band of little crowns and tiaras.

I expect the seller asked someone, possibly at a music store, how much money he could expect to get for this particular "trumpet" on eBay. The more knowledgeable person probably told him it wasn't a trumpet, but a cornet. Having never heard of a cornet, he assumed they said "clarinet." And knowing nothing about musical instruments, he took no notice of the fact that clarinets were classified under woodwinds on eBay. He didn't even look at any of the other clarinets up for bid to notice that they looked a little different from his.
I wonder if he'll figure out why he didn't get a single bid on his clarinet.

No sweat, Don. Someone will bid on it. I've just about ceased being amazed at what some people will do. Like the other day when I was behind an automobile that had a large, hand written, paper sign taped on the trunk that said, "NEW DRIVER",............hey lady, park it! Beam me up Scotty!.......

Under antiques/ musical instruments, there was a listing for "flute, bassoon, oboe?". The picture was poor but it was a metal LeBlanc contra alto. I think it sold for only about $500. As usual when a deal pops up, I was too broke to bid.
