 Tone Filter / Volume Reducer

Hey BBoard,
Alto Saxes have an option to use a tone filter by Neotech and others. I'very heard it reduces volume a bit but mainly cleans up the tone.
1. Has anyone had success with it for Alto?
2. Is there one for bass clarinet? (That would be the most comparable bell) and what effects has it had?
