 Stanislaw Skrowaczewski dies at 93

I had the great fortune of playing under Stan as some referred to him. This was youth orchestra concert with Bruckner...as a young player I was awestruck at how simple his gestures were yet contained so much music.

His work in building the Minnesota Orchestra is part of his great legacy. Sadly there is also fewer conductors like him about...seems like there are fewer great Bruckner conductors on the scene today

I just read that he composed a clarinet concerto for Joe Longo.
