Hi folks,
I'm looking at the bass clarinet part to Stravinsky's Symphony in three movements, and I'm wondering if there are any tricks to play the passage between (157) and (159) on a bass clarinet without a left-hand Ab key? I don't see any simple way to navigate the combination of Ab's, Low E's and F's and Db's.
Thanks,
Mike

Don't virtually all basses have a LH A-flat/E-flat key?
I've only seen one that didn't, and that instrument (an old Conn) also lacked a low E-flat.

Well, mine is one of the Buffet 1183's (I guess its their student model bass). It doesn't have the LH Ab/Eb.

all you can do is try and hold the tip of your pinky on the Ab key, and try and hit the Eb key with one of your other knuckles. so a roll. youll have to twist your whole hand while still keeping your other fingers down. Good Luck!
