Hello friends,
Was wondering if anybody has had the Lohff & Pfeiffer "Soloist" customization done to any of their horns? It appears to be an overhaul with some very interesting upgrades, to include a metal sleeve at the middle joint, ball bearing system in the posts to allow for shrinking and expanding wood, custom pads with resonators, and some kind of bore/tone hole treatment.
It's not cheap, but I'm intrigued. Any experience good or bad would be interesting to hear about.

Don't know about the LP Soloist setup, but I had the LP Studio setup done to both of my Yamaha CSG's in 2014, and the results were fantastic. I've only needed a minor touch up this past year.
The work they do to regular clarinets is very impressive, and the upgrades improve everything all across the board, from the response to the intonation. In the case of my instruments, they ended up better than the day I got them new. The custom pads with resonators are just awesome, and replacing the pads is very simple because of the flat "platform" they install in each pad cup.
