Hartwick (I'll be there this summer- has anyone here been there before?)
Crane Youth Music in Potsdam (was there last summer- good music but bring your own food)
By audition: NYSSSA in Saratoga- Not really a band camp, more of an orchestra (I'm an alternate this year)
Tanglewood
It's too late for either of these this year.

In the NJ/PA area - West Chester University offers several drum major, marching band, and line leadership camps during the summer (July, I believe). I've never been personally (what can I say - we don't all have the luxury of money for these things), but I know people who have attended and both enjoyed it and learned from it.

Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA-I'd say the same, I had a great time when I went.

The Los Angeles Police Department all-volunteer Concert Band is going to it's own four-day band camp in a couple of weeks in the San Bernardino Mountains. This is being paid for from non-police funds and is no cost to the about 75 members. Several coaches will be in attendance at the camp. The band is mostly composed of retired teachers and studio musicians plus about 3 policemen. Led by Don Holcomb, lt has some very talented performers in it, including the lead trumpet, lead alto saxophone, and bass players from the Harry James Orchestra. I play clarinet and oboe in it, on a 6 months rotating basis. They rehearse every Wednesday at 4:00 with sectional rehearsals every month and perform at police graduations, public affairs, etc. Foreign trips include Italy, Mexico, Sweden, and, probably, Barcelona in a couple of years. It's a great group, like my family.

The Westchester U. camp is quite decent. It is produced by a group called "Vivace Productions" which has some Westchester faculty involved. Unfortunately my link for them doesn't work any longer, though I do know the camp is on for this summer. My son went last year and was most pleased. It is held for 4 days at the end of July. Where are you in the NorthEast ?
I would recommend SYMS. Summer Youth Music School. It is hosted at the University of New Hampshire (UNH). The camp has been running strong for a long time....I mean 50 years+. I attended each summer from 1988 - 1992. I understand that it is still going strong. The facilities are excellent ! The teaching is excellent ! You will learn alot about your clarinet and alot about music. The best part is that the program tailors itself to people of all abilities. The first thing you do is play an audition and you are placed in a symphonic band based on your ability. They run several different bands, some higher ranking than others. In addition they have many different smaller ensemble groups that you can opt to play in. (Clarinet Choirs, woodwind ensembles, etc etc ). Its really well run and you make alot of friends in addition to getting better at music. They have a wide variety of classes you can take everything from, music theory, music history, many peformance classes, composition classes, MIDI classes, etc .
They used to just have one session, but I understand that they now offer a Junior 1 week session for 7th -8th graders and a 2 week senior session for 9-12th graders. The cost on the senior session is 700 dollars, BUT they do offer some scholarship assistance. It might seem pricey, but it is really worth it. If you have an 8th grader with one of those late birthdays, try to get them into the 2 week senior session. In my opinion you learn alot more in a 2 week session than you do in 1 week session. Instructors have more time to really work with you and your skill will greatly improve. They have a website http://www.unh.edu/music/syms.htm.
