Hello, Darby here,
I just wanted to let you know about the following horn for sale on ebay. It is a
wooden Conn, with a Selmer barrel and wrap around register key. I don't think the bell goes with it. It has an eagle or something on it and the words trademark.
I live in Phoenix and have seen this horn firsthand. It is in need of re-corking and the pads, which seem to have been "painted" with white out! There are also some repairs to the keywork that don't jive. There are screws sticking out with pointed ends. The bore is also very rough and splintery. The pictures on ebay make it look good, but since I have seen it and held it I thought I'd do you a service by describing the problems with it. Take a look:

Hello, Darby here
I just went back to the music brokers store to take another look at that clarinet.
it is an interesting one. I noticed more wrong with it than I did the first time. One of the keys is bent, and another has a brace screwed underneath it. I don't now why. The bell also has a hairline crack.
Thank you,
darby
