 Eugene Bozza piece
Author: Roxann
Date:   2017-01-22 03:52

It takes me a long time to find a piece I want to spend many hours learning. After a lot of time spent listening to a considerable number of clarinet and piano duets, I found Eugene Bozza's Concerto for Clarinet and Piano. It seems the only copy I can get in a timely manner is currently in Europe and it will cost close to $50 to buy it. I'm HOPING one of you has this piece stuck away somewhere, collecting dust, and that you'd like to sell it. If so, please contact me. Thank you!

For what it's worth....

This concerto is a required piece for the 2017 ICA Young Artist competition and has been in unusually high demand. At the same time, Alphonse Leduc is changing warehouses in Europe, so they haven't been filling wholesale orders. This is why you are having a hard time finding a copy. If you can wait a month or two, it should become readily available again.

In the "books" category, Amazon.com currently has 3 separate listings for the Bozza Clarinet Concerto, all a little under $50.00.

All I was able to find on Amazon by Bozza are a concerto for bass clarinet and piano, a quartet, and one other piece, none of which I'm looking for. Darnit!

With this piece being on the ICA list for this year, that explains why everybody is out of it, except in Europe!

Thank you to those of you who've helped with my search.

In a list of works by Eugene Bozza, I see the "Ballade" for bass clarinet, written in 1939 and the "Concerto for Clarinet" written in 1952, but no concerto for bass clarinet. On amazon.com I see 3 non-Amazon companies offering the Bozza Concerto for Clarinet: Robert King in Massachusetts, the_book_company in Oregon, and Serendipity Unlimited in Delaware. Out of curiosity, I've emailed all three to see if this edition is for soprano clarinet or bass clarinet . The word "bass" does not appear on the photo of the cover shown.

seabreeze...THANK YOU! With your information, I finally found the three options on Amazon. I'll email to make sure it's still in stock.
Ideally, I'd like to find a used copy from one of the BBoard members willing to sell.

www.addall.com has a copy for $30 from Amazon UK and one for $35 from Amazon France. (I didn't check what shipping time or costs would be).
