Has anyone tried the new Backun F model Bb soprano clarinet yet? How does it compare to the MoBa and the usual Buffet models, etc?

I tried it out at NAMM. To me, it plays very similarly to their top-of-the-line model (i.e., great), just a bit less "dense" sounding when pushed. The intonation is excellent, and it has the pitch venting mechanism just like the MoBa; the keywork is smooth and quiet and isn't quite as out there with the special key shapes and everything. The adjusting mechanisms are really nice, I wish more clarinets had them! It doesn't have some of the really cutting-edge manufacture techniques like the custom post system or RH trill key coil springs, but you could change the barrel and bell of course if you like the feel of the MoBa barrel/bell instead of the Traditional. At $4820, it's $3775 less than the MoBa model...that's practically another whole clarinet...maybe there could be a Key of A Model F in the future?
I'm saving up for a MoBa, but it's going to be awhile. The A clarinet by itself costs more than both my current sets of instruments all together!

Just saw this post so I'm a little late!
Gwie, they have already released the Model F in A! It's not currently on their website but they have been in production for at least a couple of months now! Of course, I found that out just after I bought my Protege. I likely would've held out and gotten a Model F so that I could pick up a matching one in A at a later time.

Well, I'll be attending NAMM again in a couple weeks, are they going to be there? I'd love to see what the Model F Key of A clarinet is like!

Kessler has the Cocobolo/Gold one for $5420.

Howarth (at today's exchange rate) has the Grenadilla/Silver for $4353, but there is the CITES processing fee + 2 week wait, and shipping costs to the US.
