Does anyone know anything about new Noblet clarinets? I'm looking for an intermediate wood clarinet for my 9th grade daughter and can't find a good quality used one. Looking for new, I found this online: Noblet L45CA Paris Bb Clarinet. It says it's made by LeBlanc but when I look at the LeBlanc site (Selmer-Conn), it's nowhere to be found.
Just want to make sure we're buying something decent for her. Is this a good quality clarinet? I know people prefer the Buffet E11 and Yamaha 450 but they are far outside our budget.
Thank you!
Suzy

I don't know anything about the newest Noblets, but the vintage ones, which can be gotten fairly cheap have an excellent reputation. Like any clarinet, it should be completely adjusted and play conditioned.
These may help...

I am not aware that there are any new Noblet clarinets.
They were part of the Leblanc stable that went under when the last management reorganisation took place.
As noted in above post, there are some very good older Noblets around if you look hard for one in good condition (or are prepared to get it serviced).
The Artist models are particularly good, being the top of their line for years.

The Normandy 4 (later called Noblet 4), Noblet 40 and Noblet 45 were all very simple and reliable wood student clarinets.
There are some new-old-stock items still left (mostly with serials from D60000 going into the E series) and I think you have found a few of them.

No new Noblet clarinets. Taylor Music in Aberdeen, SD purchased remaining new "old stock" and was selling them online for about $850 or so.

Thanks everybody! Yes, the one I found is from Taylor Music. So are these unused Noblets good quality instruments?

If they are new old stock Noblets, then they should be excellent instruments - they're built like tanks.
