Hello everyone. Long story short, my A clarinet has always played uncomfortably flat around 10-15 cents in the lower end of the chalumeau register to about C4.In ensemble playing I have always been able to somewhat nurse this problem, and this was so until the Mozart Clarinet Concerto. With a big selection on the muncy site for barrels, does anyone have any input on either the Moenning, buffet muncy A, or Chaddash. I plan on doing the trial, but any input would help. Lastly, I currently own the standard 66mm and 65mm barrels so the first variable would be getting a 64mm.

Guy Chaddash has an interesting new barrel out. I haven't tried it yet. It is an adjustable barrel. Give him a call. He will let you try one out. He's also a Buffet specialist, so he should be able to guide you in the right direction. Tell Guy I sent you. He will warm up to you right away.
I will be trying his barrels this week with Steve Barta who plays on Chaddash horns, he just retired from the Baltimore Sym and he was a Harold Wright and Bob Marcellus student. Needless to say Steve is a very gifted player.
I knew Moennig very well and the barrels he designed were more for the earlier years, through maybe the mid 1970's. I'm not sure if his barrels would be a good fit with the more open greenline bores. Again, Guy is the person to talk to about this. His knowledge is pretty amazing.
