Hi! I'm a Brass musician, and yesterday I got (it arrived in the mail) myself a Carl Fischer Metal Clarinet, which I bought from Dillon music. It seems to play very well, I played it for about an hour, although I probably lost track of time, (I love low notes on clarinet, and it was so satisfying to play that low E!)
Anyways, I'm doing pretty good, and I can train myself well enough for a while, but my problem is the case for the instrument. It's very old, and smells pretty rank, and the Clarinet itself doesn't split up into multiple pieces, so I cant just get a case easy. (it's just the neck pipe(?) and the body of the instrument) Does anyone know about any cases that if could fit into? I think it's about the same size as a standard wooden clarinet, but my college doesn't have any clarinet players in our Jazz band, so I haven't seen a clarinet in months. I'll try to add a picture, but I only have the few that I sent to my friends on Facebook. Also any advice from anyone who is a music teacher would also help greatly, Clarinet isn't my main focus, even amongst woodwinds (My flute happened to break, and I saw this thing for 195$). I'm a French horn player, and am 1st Trombone in the jazz band here, but literally any advice would be nice, especially about doubling.

Yes, it looks like you definitely need a new case!

Your 'unibody' metal soprano clarinet should fit into any clarinet case or gigbag made for a soprano Bb clarinet. The difference between most instruments (even High Pitch or Low Pitch) should be within the wiggle-room in 3rd party cases I think.

Here's two randomly found cases/gigbags:

http://www.bamcases.com/en/instruments/wind-cases/clarinet/4536-hip-hop-soprano-clarinet-case-black.html

But check the measurements carefully before buying online.
I would recommend finding one that is a hard-shell construction not a padded 'gigbag'.

I don't know much about metal clarinets (well nothing actually!) but judging by the 3rd photo attachment it looks like you could do with a barrel cork tenon re-lapping.

Cheers,
V

I bought a very good Chinese made soft case for a unibody clarinet on EBay for $27. There are plenty out there.

Thanks! I'll check those out for sure, and I'll go to one of the local music stores when I get home from college today, to check out the price on getting the pads and corks replaced. The instrument seems to play well? It sounds a lot like an alto sax, but that could just be me not being good at Clarinet yet.
