Vandoren posted a video for the trial of the New BD5 Bass clarinet Mouthpiece with v21 reeds.

Anyone know anything more about them? Anyone tried them? Release date ETC?
In my experience Vandoren likes to tease us with things, wait until we almost forgot about it then release them out of the blue!
I for one loved the V21s. I think they'll do even better on bass.

I hope they did more with the V21 model than just flip the digits compared to the V12 reeds. I tried V12 bass clarinet reeds several years ago and thought they were lousy.

Thought I'd resurrect this thread. Been a few months since it posted and wondering if anyone has any experience/opinions about the V21's.

I have been using the V21 bass reeds since July. I like them very much. The strength of the reeds are slightly softer for me than the v12 or Blue box Vandorens, so I buy one strength harder in addition to my normal strength. They are very responsive in the higher range for me, and if you play either V12 or Blue box, they are worth investigating, in my opinion. The reed tapers down to the bottom, like a Rue 56 Bb reed. Most of my performance opportunities were outdoors this summer; I am looking forward to playing indoors this fall using the V21- my setup is: Fobes RR mouthpiece (old blank), Vandoren leather ligature (metal plate) and Buffet 1193.

I guess the V21s won't work for me if I would have to get a strength harder than the standard reeds. I'm already using #5s in the blue box style and many of them are too soft for me, so unless they make a #6 in V21 I won't be buying them
