So I got a killer deal on some "found this old stock in te shelves" items at a music store (prices deeply discounted, but all sold as is with no promises or refunds). Picked up a Kooiman etude 3 thumb rest for five bucks. Looking at it and I now realize there's supposed to be a metal plate and screws to replace your thumb rest.
Anyone know of a source for that backplate for the Kooiman etude thumb rest?

If you guys have a machine shop on base, I'm sure that it would be quick and easy for them to make you one in their spare time. Any music shop should have screws, and you might be able to find them at the hardware store.

The Kooiman does not have a metal plate...it's plastic...and serrated, so it would be difficult to duplicate. Just email Ton Kooiman (his address is on his website) and find out if you can buy one directly from him. My guess is he won't even charge you for it, but may charge as much as $5...give or take. He's a wonderful person to work with.

Do as Roxann suggests. I found him to be very helpful when I had a backplate problem on my rests.
