I've tried to buy the International Edition Manevich Concerto from a couple places over the last few months. Each time the order was accepted but later canceled, with the stores saying it was either unavailable or not allowed to be sold in the US. It is still in the International catalog with no special caveats. I was able to buy the Manevich 10 Etudes without any difficulty.
It seems that most shops don't keep stock of these titles - they order on demand. They put the whole publisher's catalog up on the web, but the title may or not really be available.
Has anyone heard the story on it? I know there were a lot of rights problems with Russian music back in the 90s, but thought they had mostly been resolved.
Thanks!

It's a really fun piece, and lays well under the fingers. I studied it briefly in college. All we had was a photocopy of the original Russian edition. I wish I still had it.

I have a copy. E-mail me off board and we can arrange something if you still need.

IMC confirmed today that the Manevich is unavailable, with no further explanation or "buying opportunities."
