 Legere reed strength
Author: brianshe

I recently bought a new legere signature reed (strength 3.25). Although the tone quality is satisfactory, There is a very loud "kazoo" sound. I know that my reed is too soft but according to the strength chart provided on the Legere website this reed should be fine. I use a V12 strength 3.5 normally. My questions are, do you think that the synthetic reed amplifies the kazoo sound compared to the cane? and what legere strength should I change too, I don't want to spend another 60-80 dollars just to try a couple of reeds.
