 Auber Gigue: D.or J.Auber?
Author: PeterinToronto 2017

Hi everyone,

Hope you're all having a good start to the summer! I'm trying to figure out the background of a short 2-page solo called Gigue, by Auber. The question is, which Auber? Is this by the same Jacques (1689-1753) whose Aria and Presto has been a long-standing transcription for clarinet, or is this by Daniel Auber (1782-1871)?

Here's the piece:

Does anyone know where it's originally from?

Thanks a lot,

Peter
