Being unable to see or hear you, other than taking lessons, my best suggestion is trial and error. Try more or less mouthpiece in the mouth, rolling your lower lip in or out, varying your tongue position, varying the angle your clarinet makes with the horizontal. Let your ears or a recorder be the judge of what is an improvement.

Many, many factors in tone - concept, voicing with the inside of the mouth, reed, Mouthpiece, Clarinet, barrel

all of the above will impact greatly your sound.

I am a bit in the minority here, so take that into consideration.

My thoughts on this are that the tongue position has some affect on the speed of the air but only can slightly help (sometimes all you need for octave leaps etc.).

Your embouchure (tighter or more relaxed) determines how freely your reed vibrates. What you want to do is find that "in between point" that resides in the middle of a squeezed off sound and a flabby, uncontrolled sound.

So to me the key is ensuring that you use a very steady flow of air on every note. You do this by actively blowing; having awareness of using your abdominal muscles. This is done in concert with your diaphragm working a good percentage of the time in opposition (isometrically) with the abdominal muscles. The bottom line is that your mid section will feel engaged and active throughout play.
