The bass clarinet part for this is in bass clef and I find that very tough going, so is there a treble clef transcription of it anywhere? Preferably free to download. If not, then I'll have to rewrite it all out in treble clef.
How come some French composers (or was it the publishers) chose to write bass clarinet parts out in bass clef when that's usually the German way (and there are some Germans that write bass clarinet parts in treble clef).

Ok, I've gone and Sibeliusised a treble clef bass clarinet part for this (the five movement suite that is - not the entire work).
Should anyone reading this want a copy, then contact me through Facebook (you'll find my name in my profile) and provided you're running Sibelius 5 or higher, it should work. If not, then you'll have to talk me through how to convert it to a PDF whatnot thing as computers are definitely not my forte.

Chris, if you'd like to conquer the bass clef eventually, an easy orchestral bass clarinet part to start with would be Franck's Symphony in D. Just a thought.

Hi Chris
Would really appreciate a copy of Les Biches in the treble clef for Bass Clarinet.
A PDF is perfect. As a friend how to do it if you can't!
Would be happy to get you a free ticket for the concert which is on Sat 18th October at St John's Waterloo with the Westminster P Orchestra!1

Some brass band players refuse to.
Can you read an hautbois baryton part in bass clef?

Learn to read bass clef! That's what pros do. Although i usually hear quite lot of swearing when the bass part is in bass clef and in A!!

Just because pros do, doesn't mean you have to.
Do what's easiest and best for you. If that means rewriting an entire part out in biro, then do that if it makes things easier for you.
There are no hard and fast rules you have to adhere to.

You may have already worked this out for yourself or gotten help from someone off the BBoard, but generating a PDF is an "Export" function. With the part open :
1. click on <File> in the top left corner
2. click on "Export" about 2/3 of the way down the menu on the left. Then
3. click on PDF from the next menu.
Notice where the PDF is going to be saved - it's a little farther down the screen in "Save to:" - or change the save location to your desktop. Doing this may be different on a Mac than on a PC or an Android system.

If pros have learnt bass clef and find some problem when they have to read it, I can't say I think much of their professionalism. If they'd prepared properly, they wouldn't have been caught out, or have to grumble about it.
