Prompted by the recent thread about Selmer 9 barrel dimensions, I have a couple of questions about the Selmer 9 and 9* models:
I have read that the 9 and 9* barrels are interchangeable. Is this correct?
For these models, I assume that the full Boehm and regular versions use identical barrels. Does this sound right?
I have read that the A clarinet versions of the 9 and 9* are identical. This seems odd to me, but is it correct?

I've got both Series 9 and 9* clarinets (A and Bb) and use regular 9 barrels on my 9*s as the 9* barrels are too short for me, even though they're the ones made specifically for them (carrying the serial numbers as do the bells).
I have a set of bore gauges but will need to get digital vernier gauge to determine their exact measurements as I'm not all that able to read my standard verniers all that easily nowadays.

If the bore dimensions are different for the 9 and the 9* and they are, how can the same barrel work properly on both.

If it works, it works.
I even use a CT barrel on my Series 9 A.
So far it hasn't exploded and set fire to the whole county, so it must be alright.

The bore size of the 9* is supposed to be smaller. But this is after the reverse cone of the upper joint. The bore size at the upper joint entry is not smaller.
I too use 9* and 9 barrels. Each barrel does have its own sound and feel, not necessarily related to the *.
As far as I know the 9 A and 9* A are identical and also the 9 and 9* Full Boehms. (Based on the clarinets I played). But as the Series 9 have quite a long production span I would not be surprised if there are some variances in design.
