Not sure exactly what you're asking. David Hite, in his edition of the Rose 40 (included in Hite's Artistic Studies--Book 1 From the French School, published by Southern Music) says that Rose took etude 16 from the book of 36 Caprices composed for violin by Federigo Fiorillo (1755 to circa 1820). No mention is made of whether Fiorillo assigned a "title" to the study in the original. You might ask a violinist if they know more about the study.

This particular study combines scales, scales in thirds, scales in octaves, arpeggios, and, in measure 18, the special effect of sounding like two instruments playing, by contrasting the naturally sounding high notes with lower notes that give the illusion of playing both melody and accompaniment at the same time. The technical background to play this study well would include practicing the F major scale straight up and down and in thirds and octaves, and the F major, Bb major, A major, and D minor arpeggios.

According to Hite, seven more peices in the Rose 40 also were taken from the violin studies of Fiorllo, including one of Daniel Bonade's favorites, No. 3 for dynamic control, and Numbers 5, 18, 24, 25, 30, and 33.

The Fiorillo etudes don't carry titles, either. If you're using the Hite edition, there are a few figures restored from the original (assuming Fiorillo was the original composer and not also an adapter) that Rose left out in his version. If you're using Rose's own version, it's a little more clarinet-friendly with more places to breathe.

The etude is pretty straightforward. It would be easier to comment with something useful in response to a specific question. Obviously, articulation needs to be kept light and fingerings need to be clean. The octaves at the end, if you haven't already gotten comfortable with them, will take special attention. This is one passage that I don't personally think you can practice other than by slowing it down to a manageable tempo and gradually speeding it up as your accuracy becomes established.

I specfically need help with breathing because it makes articulating hard.

Very simple exercise, and breathing is self explanatory with the written rests.

Use the 1/1 Bb fingering in measures 19 and 23.
