Hey all,

Because nothing conveys the spirit of Weber better than a soloist in sneakers and jeans.

Do you really think your favorite studio recordings were recorded in full concert wear?
Neither did I.

I'm sorry you feel that way. He's a young man who is now a freshmen playing for a studio class in this instance. There are other performances of recital situations if you feel inclined to view those rather than spew hot takes.

Really enjoyed Joseph Beverly's Bartok.
Lot of good stuff there.

I was at the MD Clarinet Day...for a small event, I thought it was excellent. I saw a lot of familiar faces, and I even met up with David Duree/McDaniel College, who was my clarinet teacher for about five months just before I entered college...where I changed my major to English Lit. because I thought I could get a better-paying job that way. I was right. I heard some excellent playing from young kids to seasoned pros, participated in the give-aways (saw the young lady in front of me win the Buffet R-13 clarinet), played in the conference choir on bass while sitting next to a fella who plays bass aboard a cruise ship, visited a nice little exhibit hall that had a sampling of everything that a hall should have, and ate a pleasant lunch with a lot of folks I didn't know when I sat down, but took home with me in my phone when I left. What more can an event promise? It was a really fun experience!
As for the freshman in the video, the clothes aren't important. If that is all you got from these performances, you need to listen again!
